Yassine Gessime Named Strasbourg’s Player of the Month for August

Rabat – Moroccan international Gessime Yassine has been named RC Strasbourg Alsace’s Player of the Month for August after making a strong impact during the opening weeks of the 2026-27 season.

The Moroccan forward stood out with his performances for Strasbourg, scoring two goals during the month and playing an important role in the team’s results.

Yassine’s most memorable performance came against Lens on August 29, when he helped Strasbourg secure a 2-1 comeback victory. After Lens took the lead, the Moroccan responded with two goals to turn the game around and give his side its first Ligue 1 victory of the season.

The 20-year-old equalized shortly after the break before completing the comeback in the 85th minute. His decisive display earned him Man of the Match honors and further highlighted his growing importance to the French club.

His two-goal performance also provided an early indication of his attacking qualities. Yassine showed his ability to make a difference in decisive moments, while his movement and attacking involvement made him one of Strasbourg’s most influential players during the month.
