Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the 2026 Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Bishkek from August 30 to September 3. During this period, he will also pay state visits to Kyrgyzstan and Egypt.

A spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the planned trip on August 26. The 2026 Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit will take place in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

Invitations from presidents
The state visit to Kyrgyzstan will take place at the invitation of the country’s president, Sadyr Japarov. Xi Jinping will travel to Egypt at the invitation of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
