The US has launched a new series of strikes on southern Iran. The Iranian Red Crescent claims that four people, including a child, were killed in one of the strikes. Tehran responded by announcing the launch of missiles and drones at American military bases in the region. Donald Trump threatened even more powerful strikes in the event of further attacks.

The US Central Command reported that the new strikes were a response to attempts by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to attack merchant vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and American servicemen in the region.
According to the Iranian Red Crescent, fragments of an American missile hit a residential building in the city of Sirik in the south of the country. A wedding was being celebrated there at the time. Four people died, including a child.
Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social that the American strikes were a response to Iran’s attempts to lay new mines in the Strait of Hormuz and launch eight missiles at a US base in Jordan. According to the US leader, both Iranian operations ended in failure.
Trump warned that in the event of a new response from Tehran, the US would launch further strikes on Iran — “significantly more powerful and at a higher level.”
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated that Washington would regret the attack. Iranian media reported that the country had already begun launching missiles and drones at American bases in Iraq and Jordan.
This is already the second exchange of strikes between the countries in a few days.
