Ukraine’s SES reveals aftermath of Russian attack on Kyiv
Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (SES) has released details of the destruction caused by Russia’s overnight attack on Kyiv, with fires reported in at least five districts of the capital.
According to Ukrinform, the SES rported this on Facebook.
According to the SES, Russian forces launched another overnight attack on Kyiv on July 19, causing strikes and fires in the Dniprovskyi, Desnianskyi, Solomianskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Sviatoshynskyi districts.
In the Solomianskyi district, an office building caught fire. At another location, a nine-story residential building was damaged, where firefighters continue battling a blaze covering about 200 square meters. A separate non-residential building also caught fire.
In the Shevchenkivskyi district, a fire engulfed a three-story building over an area of 400 square meters. More than 10 parked vehicles were also set ablaze, while windows were shattered in a nearby 25-story apartment building.
In the Sviatoshynskyi district, a fire broke out on the roof of a private house.
In the Desnianskyi district, firefighters responded to a blaze at a non-residential building.
In the Dniprovskyi district, emergency crews were called to extinguish fires involving several vehicles, a non-residential building, and a four-story dormitory.
The SES said its rescue units and all relevant emergency services remain deployed at the affected sites.
Earlier, Ukrainian authorities reported that Russia’s overnight ballistic missile attack on Kyiv killed one person and injured seven others.
