UDA Delegation Arrives in Juba for High-Level Engagements with South Sudan’s Ruling SPLM | Dawan Africa
South Sudan, 19 July 2026 – United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General, Senator Hassan Omar Hassan, has arrived in Juba, South Sudan, leading a high-powered party delegation for a series of strategic Party-to-Party engagements with the ruling Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM).
The visit marks another step in UDA’s efforts to expand its regional political diplomacy by fostering stronger institutional ties with governing political parties across East Africa. The engagements are expected to focus on enhancing collaboration, sharing governance experiences and strengthening party structures through sustained dialogue.
Upon arrival at Juba International Airport, the UDA delegation received a warm welcome from SPLM Second Deputy Secretary General, Comrade Baba Medan Konyi, alongside Kenya’s Deputy Head of Mission and Chargé d’Affaires in Juba, Mr Benedict L. Watamba, underscoring the significance attached to the visit by both the South Sudanese ruling party and the Kenyan diplomatic mission.
The Kenyan delegation includes UDA National Organising Secretary and Mwala Member of Parliament, Hon. Vincent Kawaya, as well as other senior party officials who are participating in the bilateral consultations.
