UAE Strongly Condemns Attack on UN Peacekeepers in South Sudan


Abu Dhabi — The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned the attack that targeted a United Nations peacekeeping patrol in Jonglei State, South Sudan, killing two peacekeepers and injuring others.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the UAE’s “deep denunciation of this heinous assault” and reiterated its firm rejection of all forms of violence aimed at destabilizing security and stability.

The ministry reaffirmed the UAE’s strong condemnation of attacks against peacekeeping forces, stressing that such acts constitute violations of international law and UN Security Council Resolution 2802.

It further underscored the UAE’s full solidarity with UN peacekeepers and the countries contributing to their missions, while voicing support for international efforts to maintain peace, stability, and humanitarian assistance in conflict zones.

The statement also conveyed heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims and to the United Nations, wishing a swift recovery for the wounded.
