Chinese Cable Maker Xinhongye Plans Morocco Joint Venture With French ACOME

Agadir – Chinese cable manufacturer Wuxi Xinhongye Wire & Cable Technology plans to establish a joint venture with French automotive supplier ACOME in Morocco as part of its overseas expansion strategy.

According to Chinese media, Xinhongye announced plans to establish a wholly owned subsidiary in Hong Kong using its own or self-raised funds. The Hong Kong subsidiary will then jointly invest with France’s ACOME Automotive to establish a joint venture in Morocco.

The total investment is not expected to exceed RMB 229 million (approximately $32 million), with the final amount subject to approval from relevant Chinese and Moroccan authorities.

Xinhongye said the investment is aimed at expanding its overseas markets, strengthening its sustainable development capabilities, and advancing its globalization strategy.

The company’s board of directors has authorized its management and legally authorized representatives to handle matters related to the establishment of the overseas subsidiaries.

The planned Moroccan joint venture is expected to strengthen Xinhongye’s presence in the automotive supply chain while giving the Chinese company a foothold in Morocco’s growing industrial and automotive ecosystem.

ACOME already has a presence in Morocco, operating an automotive cable manufacturing facility in Tangier Free Zone. The French group inaugurated its Moroccan plant in 2018, producing wires and cables for the automotive industry.

Xinhongye specializes in the production of cables and related products for sectors including electric vehicles, solar energy, energy storage, nuclear power, and information infrastructure.

The Moroccan project comes as the country continues to attract international automotive suppliers seeking to establish production bases close to major European markets while benefiting from Morocco’s expanding automotive manufacturing ecosystem.
