The Gambia’s Mbakeh Solutions is building tech-driven solutions for education, youth leadership, and community development
Mbakeh Solutions is an early-stage innovation initiative founded in The Gambia to build technology-driven solutions for education, youth leadership, and community development across Africa.
Founded late last year by Modoulamin Mbakeh, Mbakeh Solutions has been founded to leverage technology, educational storytelling, and systems thinking to solve real community challenges while empowering young Africans to become creators rather than consumers of technology.
Its current innovation portfolio includes KAIRO, a story-driven educational game and interactive learning platform inspired by Gambian culture and designed for children in Africa and the African diaspora; The Gambia Reset Project, a civic leadership initiative focused on responsible citizenship, youth empowerment, environmental action, and community development; and Ocean Gambia, a digital logistics platform concept designed to improve the movement of processed drinking water between water factories, distributors, and consumers through smarter logistics and coordination.
“Although these projects are at different stages of development, they all share one purpose – using innovation and technology to solve practical African challenges,” Mbakeh told Disrupt Africa.
Having observed that many digital products used across Africa are designed outside the continent and often fail to reflect African realities, culture, education, and local needs, Mbakeh said his company aimed to bridge this gap by designing technology rooted in African experiences while helping young people become innovators themselves. The self-funded venture is still validating its ideas and building partnerships.
“However, we’ve received encouraging interest from students, educators, youth leaders, and international professionals who believe in our vision of combining technology, education, and civic leadership,” said Mbakeh.
