Super Eagles Goalkeeper Obasogie Returns To Bendel Insurance

Super Eagles goalkeeper Amas Obasogie has returned to Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Bendel Insurance after agreeing a one-year contract with the two-time champions.

The Benin-based club announced the 26-year-old goalkeeper’s return on Monday through its official X account.

“Back where it all began. Former captain and Super Eagles goalkeeper Amas Obasogie returns and signs a one-year contract. Welcome home, Amas. The story continues,” the club posted.

Obasogie returns to Bendel Insurance after spells abroad with Ethiopian Premier League club Fasil Kenema Sport Club and Tanzanian side Singida Black Stars.

He initially left the Benin Arsenal in 2024 after establishing himself as one of the promising goalkeepers in the domestic league.

His return is expected to strengthen Bendel Insurance’s goalkeeping department as the club prepares for the 2026/27 NPFL season.

At the international level, Obasogie was part of the Super Eagles squad that won the bronze medal at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The goalkeeper will now be expected to bring his experience from both domestic and international football to Bendel Insurance as they prepare for another challenging NPFL campaign.
