STARS ABROAD: Otieno on target in Tanzania as trio suffer losses in Europe

Fresh from joining TRA United from Kenyan side Police FC, Otieno made an immediate impact, heading home in the 14th minute to put the visitors ahead.

The midfielder started alongside compatriot Shariff Majabe, while another Kenyan, Bryson Wangai, began on the bench.

JKT Tanzania responded after the break, with Geoffrey Julius Luzendaze levelling six minutes into the second half when he struck in the 51st minute.

Neither side could find a winning goal as the points were shared in the opening fixture of the new league campaign.

TRA United are coached by Burundian tactician Etienne Ndayiragije, who previously managed Kenya Police FC.

Elsewhere, Kenyan international Erick Ouma featured for Rakow Czestochowa as the Polish side suffered a 2-1 defeat away to Cracovia, leaving them rooted to the bottom of the 18-team Ekstraklasa table.

Ajdin Hasic restored parity shortly after the restart, converting after initially missing a penalty.

Cracovia, however, regained the lead in the 75th minute through Dominik Pila, who struck to secure all three points for the hosts.

The defeat leaves Rakow without a point after three league matches, having lost all three games.
