The visitors eventually found the decisive second goal eight minutes from time, with Sowah completing his brace to give Singida a commanding advantage.

Tegisi then put the icing on the cake in stoppage time, marking his competitive debut for the club with his first goal since completing his move from Pamba Jiji during the transfer window.

The former Shabana forward made a timely run into the Fountain Gate penalty area before applying a composed left-footed finish from a well-delivered ball to complete the 3-0 victory.

The result handed Singida an ideal start to the new campaign and sent them straight to the summit of the 16-team Tanzanian Premier League standings after the opening round of fixtures.

Tegisi’s goal also provided an early indication of his potential importance to the club following his switch from Pamba Jiji.

The Kenyan attacker will be hoping to build on the promising start as Singida seek to mount charge for maiden TPL title.

Elsewhere, Pamba Jiji, who have Kenyan trio Brian Eshianda, Stephen Ochieng and Shaphan Oyugi in their ranks, picked up their first point of the campaign after playing out a 1-1 draw against Dodoma Jiji.

The side, coached by former Harambee Stars defender Francis Baraza, featured Oyugi during the contest, while new signing Ochieng was not included among the substitutes.
