The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM), as the ruling party of the Republic of South Sudan, is proud to announce the constitution of the SPLM Resource Mobilisation Committee comprising a dedicated group of loyal, committed, and accomplished cadres.
The committee is tasked with undertaking a transparent and robust resource mobilisation effort to strengthen the party’s financial position in preparation for the nation’s first-ever general elections.
As the country prepares for the forthcoming general elections announced by the Government, the SPLM has embarked on a process of political and institutional readiness.
It is within this context that the Party leadership constituted the SPLM Resource Mobilisation Committee, comprising committed cadres entrusted with mobilising the resources necessary to support the Party’s preparations.
The mandate of the Committee is to reach out to SPLM members, supporters, friends and well-wishers, both at home and abroad, to voluntarily contribute financial, material, logistical and other forms of support necessary to strengthen the Party’s preparedness for the electoral process and its broader political activities.
The Committee therefore calls upon all SPLM members, supporters and friends who believe in the vision and future of the Movement to stand with their Party at this important moment.
Every contribution, regardless of its size or form, represents a commitment to strengthening the SPLM and preparing it to take its message directly to the people.

A Defining Moment for the Nation
South Sudan stands at a historic crossroads. Since the achievement of independence, the country has been held in the grip of successive transitional arrangements that, while intended to chart a course toward stability, have regrettably failed to deliver the dividends of peace, justice, and prosperity that the heroic martyrs of our liberation struggle envisioned and for which they made the ultimate sacrifice.
The conduct of our first-ever election is not merely a procedural milestone; it is the definitive instrument through which the will of the people shall at long last be affirmed. It represents the decisive and irreversible break from the endless cycles of transition that have too often deferred the promise of our liberation.
The Ideals That Define Us
The SPLM was born of a profound conviction, anchored in the historic ideals of justice, liberty, equality, and the inalienable right of the people of South Sudan to determine their own future. These are not abstract principles; they are the very soul of our movement and the foundation upon which our nation was founded.
Justice demands that every citizen enjoys the protection of law and the equitable distribution of the fruits of our shared national wealth. Liberty requires that the consent of the governed be the sole and ultimate source of legitimate authority. Equality affirms that no citizen is above another, and that the dignity of the person is inviolable. The right to self-determination, so gloriously vindicated by our people in the referendum of 2011, now calls upon us once more to assert the sovereignty of their choice.
Why the Election Is Imperative
Regrettably, the successive transitional periods have not adequately delivered on these sacred mandates. Governance by arrangement, however well-intentioned, has repeatedly fallen short of the accountability that only the ballot box can guarantee. Political formations and provisional arrangements, by their very nature, cannot substitute for the judgement of the people.
It is therefore imperative that the citizens of South Sudan be empowered to choose leaders who shall be directly accountable to them — not to transient political configurations, not to negotiated power-sharing formulas, and not to any arrangement that places the interests of elites above the sovereign will of the electorate. The election will ensure that those who govern derive their legitimacy from the consent of the people and are answerable first and foremost to the citizens they serve.
A Commitment to Transparency
The Resource Mobilisation Committee has been mandated to undertake its work with the highest standards of transparency, integrity, and accountability. Every resource entrusted to the party shall be applied in furtherance of a credible, peaceful, and victorious electoral campaign — one that honours the sacrifices of our forebears and secures the future of our children.
The SPLM calls upon all citizens, friends of South Sudan, and partners in peace to stand with the movement as we embark upon this noble endeavour. The road to a permanent, just, and accountable democracy begins with a single, unyielding step. That step is the election. That election is now within our grasp, and with the collective will of the people, we shall prevail.
