Houthis claim 129 Saudi airstrikes in Yemen
Yemen’s Houthis said that Saudi Arabian aircraft carried out 129 strikes in seven provinces of Yemen over the past 48 hours. As Anadolu Agency reports, Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree promised a response to these attacks.

According to Saree, the strikes targeted the provinces of Taiz in the southwest, Marib in the east, Hodeidah in the west, Al-Jawf in the northeast, Saada and Amran in the north, and Hajjah in the northwest of the country. Saudi authorities did not immediately comment on the group’s statement.
Riyadh had previously stated that it has no military forces on Yemeni territory. Saudi Arabia defines its role as supporting the forces of Yemen’s legitimate government and defending its own borders.

Fighting and changes in control
Earlier, on September 12, the Yemeni army reported that its aircraft had struck dozens of Houthi trucks. According to the Taiz military command, the vehicles were transporting weapons, ammunition and missiles from Taiz province to the Houthi-controlled capital, Sanaa.
In recent days, the Houthis have also claimed to have captured several areas in the western coastal provinces of Hodeidah and Taiz, as well as islands in the Red Sea, including Mayyun Island in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. Yemeni government forces, for their part, announced advances in Al-Jawf province, which borders Saudi Arabia, and said they were approaching its administrative center, Al-Hazm.
Since April 2022, Yemen had maintained relative calm after nearly 12 years of war between government forces supported by a Saudi Arabia-led coalition and the Houthis. Since the end of 2023, the group has carried out attacks on Israel and commercial shipping in the Red Sea.
