The Government of South Sudan has welcomed a new leadership team for the Ceasefire and Transitional Security Arrangements Monitoring and Verification Mechanism (CTSAMVM), as Major General Thesome Anagwe concludes his tenure as Chairperson.
The transition was marked during a farewell courtesy visit to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Dr. James Pitia Morgan.
During the meeting, Major General Anagwe expressed appreciation to the Government of South Sudan for its continued cooperation and support, saying it had enabled CTSAMVM to effectively carry out its mandate of monitoring the ceasefire and transitional security arrangements.
He formally introduced the incoming Chairperson, Major General Molla Hailemariam, and the incoming Deputy Chairperson, Major General Mohamed Elmurtada El Sheikh.
Minister Morgan commended Major General Anagwe for his service and contribution to the work of CTSAMVM and wished him success in his future endeavors. He also welcomed the incoming leadership, emphasizing the importance of continued cooperation between CTSAMVM and the Government of South Sudan.
The leadership transition comes as the peace parties continue implementing the ceasefire and transitional security arrangements under the Revitalized Peace Agreement.
