South Sudan government welcomes new CTSAMVM leadership

The Government of South Sudan has welcomed a new leadership team for the Ceasefire and Transitional Security Arrangements Monitoring and Verification Mechanism (CTSAMVM), as outgoing Chairperson Major General Teshome Anagawe Ayana concludes his tenure.

The leadership transition was marked during a farewell courtesy visit by Major General Teshome Anagawe Ayana to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Dr. James Pitia Morgan.

During the meeting, Major General Ayana expressed appreciation to the Government of South Sudan for its continued cooperation and support, saying the collaboration had enabled CTSAMVM to effectively carry out its mandate of monitoring the ceasefire and transitional security arrangements.

He introduced the incoming CTSAMVM Chairperson, Major General Dr. Hailu Endashaw Atomsa, and the incoming Deputy Chairperson, Major General Mohamed Elmurtada El Sheikh.

Minister Morgan commended Major General Teshome Anagawe Ayana for his service and contribution to the work of CTSAMVM and wished him success in his future endeavors. He also welcomed the incoming leadership, emphasizing the importance of continued cooperation and partnership between CTSAMVM and the Government of South Sudan.

The leadership transition comes as the peace parties continue efforts to implement the ceasefire and transitional security arrangements under the Revitalized Peace Agreement.
