South Sudan, Ethiopia explore technical cooperation in energy, water sectors — Eye Radio

South Sudan and Ethiopia are exploring opportunities to strengthen technical cooperation in the energy and water sectors.

The discussions took place in Juba when Energy and Dams Minister Agok Makur Kor received Engineer Zelalem Kala, a former Director at Ethiopia’s Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Energy, for a courtesy visit.

The two sides exchanged views on energy and water-resource management, including opportunities to share technical knowledge and professional experience.

Minister Agok Makur Kor welcomed the engagement, saying continued exchange of expertise could help strengthen cooperation between the two neighbouring countries.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of technical capacity in developing sustainable energy and water-resource programmes in South Sudan.

Ethiopia and South Sudan have maintained close relations, with cooperation extending to areas including infrastructure, trade and development.

The Ministry says continued technical engagement could support South Sudan’s efforts to improve the management and development of its energy and water resources.
