After a disappointing 2024/25 season, Manchester United are looking to recoup as much revenue as possible in the absence of European Football.

This came as a result of a 15th place finish in the Premier League and no cup final silverware.

They had the opportunity to secure UEFA Champions League football against the odds. However, a 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final put an end to that possibility.

United have seen an upturn in form this season under manager Ruben Amorim. As a result, there is a good chance that this results in European Football next season.

Despite this, the club are still looking for ways to gather some revenue.

Earlier this season, it was reported that United were planning to take part in a midseason friendly in Saudi Arabia.

This is in addition to a postseason tour of Malaysia following their aforementioned Europa League final loss.

It was a tour that earned United approximately £8 million and the friendly in the Middle East is said to earn the club around £10 million.

The club are seeing the opportunity as one that will help fill the void in the absence of cup games, a scenario that became a further reality after their early Carabao Cup edition to Grimsby Town.

South African Premier League side Kaizer Chiefs’ Under-21 side have embarked upon a tour of the UK . This includes games against Leeds United and Queens Park Rangers.

Prior to these games, they took on United’s Under-21 side today in a behind-closed-doors game.

It was a win for the Kaizer Chiefs, who earned a 3-1 win against United. More details will follow on the details of the game.
