Six URSB officials under corruption probe

Six senior officials at the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) are on mandatory leave following President Museveni’s directive to pave the way for investigations into allegations ranging from embezzlement and money laundering to abuse of office and institutional mismanagement. Investigators are now seeking to establish whether allegations of fraud, document falsification, and illicit enrichment are backed by preliminary evidence, and whether the suspected abuse of office was limited to individual officials or points to a wider network within the agency.
