A fatal accident occurred in Niger State on Sunday morning, resulting in the death of seven passengers while seven others were seriously injured.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the crash was between a Sienna and a Mazda.
While the Mazda took off from Mobil Motor Park, the Sienna was coming from Lagos.
The incident occurred along the Kutigi–Mokwa–Bida Road. The Mazda, which was carrying eight passengers, was travelling from Minna towards Mokwa Local Government Area when it reportedly entered a blind corner and collided with the Sienna travelling from Lagos to Minna.
PUNCH Metro learnt that all the occupants in the Mazda lost their lives except a young teenage girl who was unconscious at the time of filing this report.
The Sienna, which was equally filled, had seven injured passengers, while four other passengers were said to have come out of the vehicle unscathed.
Our correspondent gathered that there was an ongoing search for the relatives of the only surviving occupant of the Mazda car.
The Corps Commander of the Niger State Federal Road Safety Command, FRSC, Aishat Saadu, who confirmed the accident on Sunday night, disclosed that the accident involved 18 passengers.
“As at the time of rescue, 18 people were involved: seven injured, seven killed and four not injured.
“The crash occurred around 11:30 am.
“Along Kutigi-Bida Road at Shebe Village,” she said in a WhatsApp message.
