Settle raises $2M pre-seed to digitise Egypt’s B2B payments

What’s the deal? Settle, an Egypt-based B2B payment platform, has raised $2 million in a pre-seed round led by Shorooq Partners. El Sewedy Capital Holding, Acasia Ventures, and Plus VC also participated.

What’s the endgame? Founded in 2023 by Mostafa Mobarak and Kamil Sayour, Settle connects ERP software such as Oracle and SAP to business bank accounts, automating payments, receivables, and treasury management. It has integrated with major Egyptian banks through the Automated Clearing House (ACH).

Why now? Still in its pre-launch phase, Settle has already processed over E£50 million in test transactions across construction, energy, and contracting. The company says the platform cuts operational errors by up to 90% and reduces workload on those processes by as much as 70%.

The new funding will support Settle’s push into global markets and further platform development, with a focus on giving CFOs and business owners real-time financial data.

What they’re saying: “The digitization of financial operations for Egyptian businesses is long overdue, and SETTLE is stepping in with a service that is efficient, scalable, and easy to integrate,” said Tamer Azer, partner at Shorooq Partners.

Co-founder Sayour framed the problem in operational terms. “As a result of ERP systems not easily integrating into bank platforms, it could take up to two days to get a somewhat accurate picture of your cash flow as a business owner,” he said. “That definitely stifles decision-making.”

The signal: Investors see B2B payments automation as an untapped market in the region. “B2B payments automation remains a blue ocean in our geography,” said Hassan Haider, partner at Plus VC, pointing to the model’s disruptive track record elsewhere. At $2 million, the round sits among the larger early-stage deals in Egypt, ranking near the top 10% of seed-stage rounds in the country all-time.
