Rees Tech partners with LONGi, AIKO and VEICHI to expand Egypt’s solar energy market

Rees Tech, a company specialising in solar energy and renewable energy solutions, has signed three partnership agreements with leading Chinese companies LONGi, AIKO and VEICHI as part of its strategy to strengthen its presence in the Egyptian market and introduce advanced solar, energy storage and power solutions.

The agreements were signed on the sidelines of Rees Tech’s participation in the Solar & Storage exhibition and conference.

Ibrahim Gamal, Chairperson of Rees Tech, said the three agreements represent a major step in the company’s expansion strategy, enabling it to provide integrated solutions for solar and renewable energy projects while strengthening cooperation with leading global technology providers.

The first agreement was signed with Chinese solar technology company LONGi, under which Rees Tech will become an agent for LONGi’s solar and renewable energy storage solutions in Egypt.

Gamal added that the partnership aims to provide advanced and reliable energy storage solutions to support the expansion of solar energy projects in Egypt, particularly as demand for energy storage systems increases to improve the utilisation of electricity generated from renewable energy projects.

The second agreement was signed with AIKO, a Chinese company specialising in solar cell and module technology. Under the agreement, Rees Tech will exclusively supply AIKO’s solar panels and cells to the Egyptian market.

Gamal noted that AIKO’s panels offer efficiency rates of up to 25.1%, while some of its products currently have capacities of around 805 watts. The company is also targeting higher capacities in the coming period.

He pointed out that introducing these technologies to the Egyptian market will provide developers and investors with high-efficiency products that can increase project output while reducing the land area required to achieve targeted generation capacities.

The third agreement was signed with VEICHI, a Chinese manufacturer specialising in inverters, electrical control systems and solar energy solutions. The partnership will cover the supply of inverters, cables and lithium batteries for solar energy projects in Egypt.

Gamal disclosed that Rees Tech is targeting a 25% increase in the volume of VEICHI product supplies to the Egyptian market by 2027, supported by expected growth in solar energy projects and rising demand for inverters and energy storage systems.

He further explained that VEICHI inverters are particularly suited to water-pumping applications in Egypt due to their low failure rates, smooth operation and remote-control capabilities. The systems are specifically designed for water-pumping applications rather than being general-purpose industrial solutions.

Rees Tech showcased a range of products and solutions supplied through its agency agreements with international brands operating in the Egyptian market. Its portfolio includes solar panels and cells, inverters, energy storage systems, lithium batteries and solar-powered water-pumping solutions.

Gamal indicated that the company will continue expanding its partnerships with international technology providers to facilitate the transfer of advanced technologies to Egypt and meet growing demand for renewable energy solutions, particularly amid the country’s efforts to increase reliance on clean energy and expand solar and energy storage projects.

Gamal said that Rees Tech currently has an extensive distribution network comprising around 10 major distributors, in addition to between 30 and 40 sub-distributors, bringing the total to nearly 50 distributors across various agricultural areas nationwide.
