A crash in his £270,000 (around R5.8 million) Lamborghini has reportedly put former Premier League star Raheem Sterling at risk of some jail time.

Details Surrounding Sterling’s Crash
The incident that saw motorists witness a black luxury 4×4 swerving across the M3 in Hampshire took place in May this year.
The former Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea winger was arrested close to an interchange near Farnborough, with his Lamborghini involved in a single-vehicle collision on the southbound carriageway.
Consequences For The Former Liverpool Winger
According to The Sun, Sterling, 31, has been charged with dangerous driving, possession of nitrous oxide for wrongful inhalation, and failing to provide a specimen following his arrest.
If convicted of dangerous driving, the ex-England international could face up to two years in jail.
Hampshire Police on Sterling Charges
A Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary spokesman said, per The Sun: “Raheem Sterling, 31, from Berkshire, has been charged for the following offences: dangerous driving, possession of nitrous oxide for wrongful inhalation, failing to provide a specimen.
“The charges come following a single vehicle collision, involving a Lamborghini, on the M3 southbound, close to the Minley Interchange, on 28 May, 2026. No other vehicles were involved and no injuries were reported. Mr Sterling is due to appear at Basingstoke magistrates court on 15 September.”
The winger had been due to answer bail on Friday before being summoned to appear before magistrates in Basingstoke on September 15.

Sterling is currently a free agent, having parted ways with Dutch side Feyenoord after a short stint that began in February this year.
