PFL Africa Announces Fight Card for Morocco Event

Meknes – The Professional Fighters League (PFL) will host Morocco’s biggest MMA event in history on October 10 at the Mohammed V Sports Complex in Casablanca. 

The event will feature six semifinal tournament matches across three weight divisions, plus a heavyweight main event, with the winners advancing to the season finals later this year.

Morocco and Senegal go head-to-head in the heavyweight main event as Badr “Dastan” Medkouri meets Abdoulaye Kane.

Standing 193cm tall and holding a 9-3 professional record, Medkouri has secured eight knockouts in his nine career victories.

On the other side, the 215cm Kane carries a 5-2 record and a 100% finish rate, boasting four knockouts and one submission in his five professional victories.

In the co-main event, unbeaten Algerian-Canadian Karim Henniene faces Nigeria’s Raphael Uchegbu in a high-stakes bantamweight semifinal.

Henniene carries a perfect 7-0 professional MMA record. Fighting out of Montreal’s famed Tristar Gym, the 31-year-old Algerian-Canadian combines technical striking with sharp grappling, highlighted by a slick first-round submission win over Thimna Mhlauli at PFL Africa in June.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Uchegbu holds a strong 11-2 professional record with nine stoppage victories. The 30-year-old enters the matchup riding momentum from a dominant unanimous decision win against Edson Machavane at PFL Africa in June.

Main card action kicks off with a bantamweight semifinal between Liberia’s Dwight Joseph (16-3) and Angola’s Boule Godogo (5-2). The winner will advance directly to the tournament finals later this year.

The welterweight division will also host two semifinal bouts. Angola’s Shido Boris Esperança (12-2) faces South Africa’s Peace Nguphane (9-3), while Guinea-Bissau’s Rivaldo Pereira (4-2) battles undefeated Nigerian prospect David Samuel (6-0) for a spot in the finals.

In the lightweight semifinals, four fighters compete for a place in the championship round. An all-Nigerian matchup features Patrick Ocheme (9-1) against Cornel Thompson (12-3), alongside a clash between Senegal’s Demba Seck (11-3) and Chad’s Hussain Al Kurdi (3-0).

The Casablanca card features fighters representing nine different nations: Morocco, Algeria, Nigeria, Angola, South Africa, Guinea-Bissau, Senegal, Chad, and Liberia.
