The Federal Polytechnic Offa, Kwara State and Electric Motor Vehicle Company (EMVC) have signed a partnership agreement aimed at advancing indigenous electric vehicle (EV) production and developing the skilled workforce needed to drive Nigeria’s emerging clean mobility industry.
The agreement, described as the first of its kind between a Nigerian electric vehicle manufacturer and a polytechnic, seeks to strengthen collaboration between industry and technical education to promote local capacity in the automotive value chain.
Under the partnership, both institutions will jointly develop market-ready electric vehicles designed for Nigerian and African conditions, while collaborating on battery technology research, including cell assembly, battery management systems and local sourcing of components.
