DAKAR, SENEGAL — Notre Dame Cornerback Leonard Moore spent part of his offseason traveling to Senegal for a service trip.
The All-American defensive back, who has seen his Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) valuation rise to over one million dollars, used his platform and time away from the program to make a global impact.
Moore balanced a busy summer that included being featured on the cover of EA Sports College Football 27 by donating a portion of his NIL revenue to the Black Student-Athlete Summit to support the construction of the court in Jaxaay community, located near the capital city of Dakar.
The project officially opened on June 6, 2026, following a collaborative effort between the Black Student-Athlete Summit, the local NDAW Academie, and Jaxaay community leaders.
Moore decided to support the project after learning about the need for a local court from Colin Ndaw, a Senegalese basketball player at William & Mary and founder of the NDAW Academie. Built to official FIBA specifications, the court is designed to support long-term youth programming training, and organized competition.
