NOC condemns attempted drone attack on fuel depot

The National Oil Corporation (NOC) has condemned an attempted drone attack on fuel storage tanks and the Brega fuel depot on Airport Road.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the NOC described the attempted attack on oil facilities as a serious development and called on security and military authorities to step up efforts to protect vital sites.

It said any attack on oil facilities anywhere in Libya posed a direct threat to the country’s fuel supply system and essential services.

The NOC urged all parties to refrain from hostile actions against oil facilities and their workers and respect their safety.

It confirmed that emergency teams at all sites had been placed on full alert, while specialist teams had begun removing fuel from storage tanks to reduce their levels.
