Security authorities in Madrid have dismantled a network specializing in the fraudulent registration in Spain of vehicles stolen in Morocco. Two people were arrested, while two others are under investigation.
The operation, which concluded last June, uncovered the registration of seven vehicles using forged documents, in addition to the recovery of one car, according to security sources cited by Europa Press.
The investigation began after officers from the Carabanchel police station stopped a vehicle with an expired license plate and found foreign documents relating to other cars inside its front compartment.
After the case was referred to the Judicial Coordination Police Station, inquiries showed that both the documents and the vehicle conformity authentication code had been forged, leading to the arrest of those involved.
