The MX2 Grand Prix Race 1 will start at 12:15 p.m. CST, and that will be followed by the MX2 Grand Prix Race 2 at 3:10 p.m. CST. The action will start stateside at 3 a.m. ET on CBS Sports Network. This is Round 18 of the FIM Motocross World Championship and will take place near the East China Sea in the southern Fengxiang District at the Shanghai International Off-Road Circuit near Hangzhou Bay. This is the second race of the month after Guillem Farres won the last MX2 race at the MXGP of Turkiye in Afyonkarahisar, Turkey. Farres has been a mainstay this season, as he has been at the top of the leaderboard for a while now. Farres represents Spain and Team Triumph with 816 points. Camden McLellan of Russia and also of Triumph is in second with 764 points, while Sacha Coenen of Belgium and KTM rounds out the Top 3 with 755 points. Farres is so far ahead this season that if he finishes this race from China ahead by 60 points or more, he will have clinched the MX2 title before the final race has even started. Germany’s Simon Längenfelder of KTM Racing is the defending MX2 World Champion. Can anyone get close to Farres in Shanghai, China, in this penultimate race of the season?
