MTN Uganda and ATC Install Solar Power System at Kiyunga Health Centre
The initiative was implemented under MTN Uganda’s 21 Days of Y’ello Care campaign, which focuses on expanding equitable access to healthcare in communities.
MTN Uganda, in partnership with American Tower Uganda (ATC), has installed a 24-panel solar power system and backup equipment at Kiyunga Health Centre IV to improve the reliability of electricity for maternal and child healthcare services.
The initiative was implemented under MTN Uganda’s 21 Days of Y’ello Care campaign, which focuses on expanding equitable access to healthcare in communities.
ATC Uganda’s Rebecca Lwetutte commended the collaborative effort, highlighting the importance of partnerships and shared responsibility in improving healthcare outcomes.
The project brings together MTN Uganda, ATC Uganda and several other partners, including Zuri Health, Mengo Hospital, Maendeleo Foundation, CoRSU Rehabilitation Hospital, clinicPesa, Uganda Red Cross Society, Huawei and Uganda Blood Transfusion Services.
The installation is expected to provide Kiyunga Health Centre IV with more reliable power, supporting the delivery of essential maternal and child health services and strengthening healthcare access in the community.
