Uganda is stepping up efforts to turn its mineral potential into bankable projects capable of attracting international capital. At the Africa Down Under Conference in Perth, a delegation comprising diplomats, MPs, government technocrats and the private sector has been engaging Australia’s mining industry, investors and policymakers. But beyond the meetings and investment pitches, the bigger question remains: can Uganda turn this growing mining diplomacy into capital, technology and value addition at home?
