Morocco wins African beach volleyball title and qualifies for Los Angeles 2028

Morocco’s men’s beach volleyball team won the African Championship on Saturday after defeating Algeria 2-0 in the final, held at Abu Heif Beach in Alexandria.

With this continental title, Morocco also secured its ticket to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

In the final, the Moroccans took the lead by winning the first set 21-19, before asserting their dominance in the second, 21-13, to claim the continental crown without needing a deciding set.

The African Championship, which concluded on Saturday, brought together 45 teams — 24 men’s and 21 women’s — representing 28 African countries.
