Morocco, Panama Explore New Cooperation Opportunities at WISS Latam 2026

Agadir – Morocco was the guest of honor at the third edition of the Women Innovation & Sustainability Summit (WISS Latam), held in Panama City on August 26-27, showcasing the country’s growing engagement with Latin America on issues including innovation, sustainability, women’s leadership, and business cooperation.

Organized by the Pacific Chamber of Commerce, the summit brought together business leaders, government officials, investors, entrepreneurs, and experts from more than 12 countries under the theme “Global Trends: Technology and Business.”

WISS Latam is one of Latin America’s leading international gatherings focused on women’s leadership, innovation, and sustainability. The platform brings together public, private, and academic stakeholders to promote gender equality, innovation, sustainable development, and strategic business partnerships.

WISS Latam identified the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Panama as the event’s guest of honor, describing the participation as a means of strengthening ties between Latin America and Africa. Morocco’s Ambassador to Panama, Bouchra Boudchiche, was also among the summit’s featured speakers.

Morocco’s participation extended beyond its designation as guest of honor. The summit’s first day featured a networking reception that brought together senior executives, entrepreneurs, government officials, diplomats, representatives of regional institutions, and media. 

The event also featured Moroccan cultural elements, including a traditional tea ceremony and a photo exhibition showcasing the country’s cultural diversity.

The 2026 WISS Latam Awards also recognized Ambassador Boudchiche. In remarks, the Moroccan diplomat stressed the importance of platforms that can strengthen Morocco-Panama relations and create new avenues for cooperation between Africa and Latin America.

The summit’s discussions focused on issues shaping the future of business and development, including artificial intelligence, technological innovation, sustainability, digital transformation, gender equality, and regional integration.

According to WISS Latam, this year’s edition was designed to promote technology as a tool for gender equality, competitiveness, and sustainable growth. Its agenda covered four main areas: innovation and sustainability; regional integration and future partnerships; equity and inclusion in business transformation; and artificial intelligence and technology.
