Casablanca – The sixth International Conference on Digital Technologies and Applications, ICDTA-GLOBAL 2026, will take place on October 9 and 10 at Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology in Flushing, New York.
The event marks the first time the Moroccan-founded conference series will hold an edition outside Morocco. Organizers expect around 250 participants over the two days, with researchers and authors joining from Africa, North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
The conference will run in a hybrid format, allowing participants to attend in person or online. Its international scientific committee includes 145 experts from 49 countries, while participating authors come from Morocco, the United States, France, Canada, China, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Qatar, Germany, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Brazil and Australia.
ICDTA-GLOBAL 2026 will operate in technical cooperation with the International Federation for Information Processing, with Morocco World News (MWN) as the official media partner.
AI and digital technologies at the center
Artificial intelligence will run throughout the program, with the conference treating AI as an applied discipline. Sessions will examine large language models and natural language processing, computer vision, multimodal AI, machine learning, predictive analytics and responsible AI.
Other sessions will look at AI applications in healthcare and biomedicine, business and finance, marketing and consumer behavior, industry and supply chains, sustainability and mobility, and education.
The technical program also covers deep learning, robotics, embedded systems, mechatronics, data science, cloud computing, cybersecurity, blockchain, the Internet of Things (IoT), digital transformation, digital government and intelligent control for industrial systems.
Energy and environmental tracks will address renewable generation and photovoltaics, smart grids, power systems, intelligent irrigation, sustainable agriculture, water systems, mobility and financial technologies.

Featured speakers include Kaoutar El Maghraoui, principal research scientist at IBM Research AI and adjunct professor at Columbia University, Diana Nassar, a product management leader at Amazon Prime Video, Amir Toliyat of the College of Staten Island at the City University of New York, and Wayne J. Levin and Philip Ramsey of Predictum Inc. in Canada.
ICDTA has run annually since 2021. It held its first three editions in Fez, followed by Benguerir in 2024 and Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane in 2025. Springer Nature has published all five editions in its Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems series, with 968 papers published in total.
Organizers say the New York edition aims to open collaborations between Moroccan and US universities, laboratories and technology companies and increase the international visibility of Moroccan researchers.
The official opening will bring together Vaughn College President and CEO Sharon B. DeVivo, Vice President for Academic Affairs Paul LaVergne, Engineering and Technology Department Chair Hossein Rahemi, Local Chair Sanaa Faquir and ICDTA-GLOBAL Co-Founder Saad Motahhir.
The two-day program will feature plenary talks, oral sessions, posters, an exhibition area and structured networking, with online participation throughout. The conference will take place at 86-01 23rd Avenue in Flushing, New York.
