RUSSIA, BELGOROD OBLAST, Aug. 31 — On Aug. 30, Alexander Shuvaev, governor of Belgorod oblast, said Ukrainian missile attack hit the city. The attack killed two and injured 15 people, according to the governor’s messages.

An OSINT analysis of the Militarnyi, a Ukrainian defense media outlet, said that Ukrainian forces attacked at least five objects, including the Belgorod thermal power station, a transport company, an object in an industrial area, and a TV tower in the city.
They also attacked an Esteyt Logistics storage complex that Ozon, one of Russia’s first e-commerce companies, uses. Militarnyi said that Ozon’s delivery service stopped working in the region.
Local Telegram channel Pepel.Belgorod said that all the killed and injured people were at Ozon’s storage, including 16 and 17-year-old teenagers. They added that the company employs minors at its logistics centers.
As of now, Ukraine has not claimed responsibility for the attack on Belgorod on Aug. 30.
Militarnyi also added that it is currently unknown exactly what weapons were used to strike the city.
Gwara Media couldn’t independently confirm the origins or consequences of the attack.
In 2026, Russia increased the number of its attacks on the Ukrainian energy system by 36%, Ukrainian media outlet Ukrinform reported, citing Vitalii Zaichenko, Chairman of the Management Board of Ukrenergo, the National power company.
He added that millions of customers were without electricity at the same time after the Russian attacks this year. In January, the average number of houses without power was 6.1 million, in February, 6.5 million homes were without power, and in March, 3.8 million.
