Spain: Details of the abduction of a citizen in Burkina Faso

Madrid, Spain – Spanish and regional media have reported that gunmen abducted a Spanish national in Burkina Faso and took him to an unknown location. Spanish reports revealed that the abducted man hails from the town of Rocafort in the province of Valencia. He had been residing for several months in the city of Bobo-Dioulasso, where he worked in the commercial sector. His family stated that he had recently visited Spain and attended his town’s festivities on August 22 before returning to Burkina Faso. They also noted that the last direct contact with him took place on the 27th of that month, with concerns mounting after all communication ceased completely on August 30 and 31.
