Menfi discusses political process with French envoy

Presidential Council head Mohamed Menfi has discussed the country’s political and economic situation with French President Emmanuel Macron’s special envoy to Libya, Paul Soler.

The talks in Tripoli included Menfi’s three-presidency initiative, which aims to advance the political process through direct Libyan dialogue and reach lasting national agreements.

The two also discussed efforts to unify state institutions and Libya’s military, as well as strengthening economic ties between Libya and France, including the possibility of establishing a direct economic link between Tripoli and Paris.

For his part Soler reaffirmed France’s commitment to developing relations and cooperation with Libya, according to the Presidential Council.
