The pair got engaged in March, when Frangulis popped the question with a 12-carat sparkler designed by Isabela Grutman, reported People. “It’s 12 carats with, like, two layers of emeralds and a very beautiful cut,” the world No 1 revealed in an Instagram video, with her husband-to-be adding that it was “not easy to find a beautiful, massive stone”. Although the ring fell three carats short of Sabalenka’s dream rock, Frangulis explained that the larger stone would’ve been “too tacky” and “too expensive”.

So what do we know about Georgios Frangulis?
