The story
Amakhosi forward Khanyisa Mayo got into the Halloween spirit over the weekend, turning heads with a spooky costume inspired by one of horror cinema’s most recognisable characters.
The 28-year-old attacker took to Instagram to give supporters a glimpse of his Halloween celebrations, sharing a series of photographs featuring himself and his partner, Ababalwe Scout, dressed up for the occasion.
Mayo went all out with his costume, transforming into Michael Myers, the fictional serial killer and central antagonist of the iconic Halloween horror film franchise.
Complete with the character’s signature eerie look, the Chiefs forward embraced the darker side of the spooky season, making for a standout Halloween appearance.
His partner, meanwhile, opted for a contrasting look, putting her own fashionable spin on the classic Little Red Riding Hood fairytale character.
Take a look:
Scout completed her costume with a striking red cloak and corset, bringing a more glamorous interpretation to the much-loved storybook character.
The couple’s contrasting outfits made for an interesting Halloween combination, with Mayo leaning into horror while Scout brought a fairytale-inspired touch to their celebrations.
For the Chiefs forward, the Halloween festivities provided an opportunity to enjoy some downtime away from football, having been sidelined by injury and yet to feature for Amakhosi this season.
