Tashreeq Matthews has taken his off-field style to another level after linking up with a rising South African luxury fashion house for a bespoke, one-of-one commission.

The 25-year-old was recently pictured arriving at SITHOLE Luxury House in his sleek Audi RS3, giving fans a glimpse into a collaboration that blends football, fashion and individuality.

Founded by Aphiwe Sithole, the Cape Town-based luxury brand specialises in narrative-driven, limited-edition eyewear, with the Matthews commission representing a piece created exclusively for the Sundowns star.

SITHOLE Luxury House has quickly begun making waves beyond South Africa. According to Mail & Guardian, the brand’s first category is eyewear and, within six months of its founding, it had already made its way from Cape Town to Paris, featuring at Africa Fashion UP during Paris Fashion Week as the eyewear partner for Imprint South Africa in July.

For Matthews, however, the latest project is all about exclusivity. Sharing details of the collaboration, Sithole emphasised that the piece was created specifically around the footballer rather than as part of a wider collection. 

“Some moments deserve to exist only once. Created exclusively for Tashreeq, this private commission marks another expression of what we are building at SITHOLE Luxury House. Not a collection. Not a production run. Not something to be repeated,” wrote Sithole.

The luxury designer went on to explain the thinking behind the one-off creation and why its individuality was central to the project.

“A singular body of work, created around one individual — considered from material to finish, from detail to presentation. The result is something that cannot be recreated. Because the highest form of exclusivity is not limited. It is singular,” he added.

Matthews has quietly built a reputation for being one of Sundowns’ more reliable performers since joining the club in 2024, but this latest collaboration highlights another side of his personality away from the pitch.
