Morocco defender Adam Masina has backed CAF’s decision to award Morocco the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title, calling Senegal’s conduct during the final “deplorable” and “unsporting” in an interview with Corriere della Sera p.

Senegal temporarily left the field during the Jan. 18 final in Rabat in protest at a late penalty decision before returning and winning 1-0 after extra time.

CAF’s Appeal Board later ruled on March 17 that Senegal had forfeited the match under tournament regulations and recorded a 3-0 victory for Morocco.

“The decision to award us the victory, I think, is right,” Masina said, adding that Senegal “can never have won” in his view.

Masina also praised Morocco’s long-term investment in youth development and football infrastructure, highlighting the Mohammed VI Football Complex as central to the national team’s rise.
