Mali: 6,000 Dinars From Sept. 22, Sign-Ups Open Sept. 7

Applications for the one-time state payment of 6,000 dinars open on September 7 through the Treasury Administration’s website, First Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Sinisa Mali said Thursday evening. The payout date depends on whether a citizen is already registered with the Share Fund, and it is on that point that the sources reporting the minister’s remarks diverge.

Speaking on Pink TV, Mali said:

“From that fund, we will pay 6,000 dinars to the citizens who are entitled to it, in the period from September 22 to 25. Other citizens who are not entitled to a payout from the Share Fund will receive 6,000 dinars directly from the budget.”

A Disputed Date for Part of the Public

The quote indicates that the September 22 to 25 window applies to recipients through the Share Fund. For everyone else, the minister did not give an exact date in that same statement, only that the money would come straight from the budget. The Tanjug news agency wrote in the opening paragraph of its report that the Share Fund payout would run “from September 22 to 27,” which contradicts the same minister’s quote carried in the very same article. N1 and una.rs, on the other hand, both report a single window, September 22 to 25, for all citizens, without distinguishing between money paid through the fund and money paid directly from the budget.

September 27 is therefore an unreconciled figure: it appears in only one place, in a reporter’s paraphrase, and it conflicts with the minister’s own words quoted in that same piece. According to every source that has been checked, both the fund payout and the direct budget payout fall in the same window, September 22 to 25.
