Malawi Vice President Jane Ansah Receives Zimbabwean Beauty Queens in Blantyre

BLANTYRE-  Malawi Vice President Dr Jane Mayemu Ansah has received Miss International Africa Yollanda Chimbarami and Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2025 Lyshanda Moyas for talks aimed at exploring opportunities for stronger cooperation between Malawi and Zimbabwe.

The meeting, held in Blantyre on Wednesday, September 2, also brought the creative industry and youth empowerment into focus, according to the Office of the Vice President.

Chimbarami said their positions as beauty queens have provided them with a broad African network which they intend to use to promote partnerships and closer relations between the two countries.

She said the delegation is particularly interested in creating opportunities within the creative sector and strengthening links between Malawian and Zimbabwean stakeholders.

The beauty queens further explained that their work extends beyond the beauty industry, noting that they maintain close cooperation with the Zimbabwean government while supporting young girls and boys living with disabilities across Africa.

Dr Ansah welcomed the initiative and applauded the two beauty queens for using their platforms to make a positive contribution to society.

The Vice President described them as icons and responsible leaders whose influence can help inspire young people and encourage them to pursue positive goals in their respective countries.

As part of the engagement, Chimbarami and Moyas presented Dr Ansah with Zimbabwean national fabric. The gift was facilitated by Zimbabwe’s First Lady, Auxillia Mnangagwa.
