The story
Maglera Doe Boy has broken his silence with a message to the Yellow Nation after failing to appear for his scheduled pre-match set at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium, where Mamelodi Sundowns cruised to a 4-1 win over Durban City on Saturday.
The Klerksdorp-raised hitmaker took to his Instagram story on Saturday to explain his absence from Downs’ “home” match in the North West.
The “Ntja’ka” and “Makazana” rapper was set to perform some of his biggest hits live before Masandawana faced off against Durban City at Royal Bafokeng Stadium, but a logistical issue on the road resulted in Maglera not being able to make it in time for his performance.
“I have a message for my Sundowns fans who went to Royal Bafokeng to see me perform. I am so sorry; I am not going to make it due to logistical problems on the road.
“And when I look at the time, by the time we reach Rustenburg, it would be too late. But we have already contacted the team at Sundowns, and we are going to be at Loftus; can I please see y’all there,” noted Maglera, real name Tokelo Moyakhe, promising to make it up to the hip-hop-loving Masandawana faithful, likely at their upcoming home game at Loftus Versfeld.
