Maersk will revise its Destination Handling Charge for shipments from worldwide origins, excluding Saudi Arabia, to Sudan.

The updated DHC will apply to dry, reefer and special containers.

Maersk will charge EUR 125 for each 20-foot container and EUR 189 for each 40-foot container.

Effective dates

The revised charges will apply according to the shipment’s Price Calculation Date:

  • Vietnam: 15 September 2026
  • Non-regulated countries: 1 October 2026
  • FMC-regulated shipments: 1 October 2026

Price Calculation Date rules

For non-SPOT bookings outside FMC-regulated trades, the Price Calculation Date is the scheduled departure date of the first water leg at the time of booking confirmation.

For FMC shipments, the Price Calculation Date is the final container gate-in date.

The payment location for the Destination Handling Charge will follow the freight payment location.

Other applicable surcharges may apply, including local and contingency charges.

The revised rates remain subject to applicable local regulations. For trades governed by the US Shipping Act or China Maritime Regulations, rates that differ from Maersk’s tariff will only bind the carrier if included in a service contract or amendment filed with the relevant authority.
