LTA revokes StarCell’s dormant licence

The Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA) has revoked the operating licence and spectrum assignment of StarCell, said LTA board chairperson Clarence Massaquoi, after six years of complete inactivity. StarCell failed to launch operations despite receiving authorisation on 20 March 2020. The LTA said that freeing up the spectrum is essential for promoting an efficient, competitive and reliable telecommunications market.
