Love Is Blind UK’s Cuba shares damning verdict on Ryan relationship: ‘He ran away’

Love Is Blind UK’s Cuba has opened up about the end of her relationship with fiancé Ryan, revealing she felt “blindsided” by him during the experiment and the eventual breakdown of their relationship.

Yesterday Netflix aired the ninth and 10th episodes of Love Is Blind UK season three, which showed Ryan and Cuba deciding to end their relationship. After a blossoming connection in the pods that saw them bond over a number of shared values, they ended up getting engaged. They thrived during the group trip to Ibiza, but when it came to moving back to London, their relationship started to fracture.

Ryan went on numerous work trips as a public speaker, leaving Cuba feel isolated and alone during the experiment and Ryan failed to make Cuba feel like a priority during his return, where he prioritised his own needs to recover from the stress of travel. Their relationship sadly became more strained when Ryan had to leave the experiment due to a family emergency.

Upon his return to the apartment, the pair decided to end their relationship, with Ryan saying he didn’t feel like he could go through with the wedding.

Now, a year on from filming Cuba has opened up about their breakup, saying she felt “blindsided” by Ryan and didn’t get a “proper chance” at the experiment.

During an interview with Cosmopolitan UK Cuba revealed she felt she didn’t get a proper Love Is Blind UK experience and Ryan didn’t give his all to the experiment.

“If I got someone who wasn’t avoidant, I would have had someone who actually tried been intentional, and loved me deeply and not just said they loved me consistently and then just blindsided me,” she explained. “I think the true Love Is Blind experience is someone who tries and he didn’t give me that.”

Cuba went onto acknowledge Ryan did give his all to the experiment during the pod stage at the beginning, calling their connection “beautiful” but that there was a “shift” after the pods which led to her not having the experience she had hoped for.

“Ryan ran away the whole time, in every capacity. I’ve been in long distance relationships before and I always felt loved. If someone cares you’ll never feel lonely in a relationship.”

Ryan’s constant travelling became a point of contention between the couple, however, Cuba revealed she wouldn’t have cared about the travelling if Ryan was present in the relationship, “It’s the energy, someone can text you and you can still feel lonely. It’s the effort.”

As for where their relationship stands now we’ll have to wait to the reunion on Sunday evening to find out for sure.
