Minister of Labour and Rehabilitation, Government of National Unity, Ali Al-Abed, has signed a memorandum of understanding in Ankara with the Turkish Minister of Labour and Social Security, Vedat Işıkhan, to enhance cooperation in the field of labour mobility and development of vocational training.
Al-Abed emphasized that the MoU represents a pivotal step to tapping into the Turkish expertise in enhancing efficiency of Libyan personnel and qualifying them to meet the demands of the labour market, while establishing a regulatory framework for the movement of workers between the two countries.
For his part, the Turkish minister stressed the importance of the agreement in supporting and developing skills and competencies on both sides. This signing comes within the framework of both countries’ keen interest in expanding cooperation in the fields of human resource development and labour market regulation.
