Libya, Tunisia agree roadmap to strengthen audit cooperation

Libya’s Audit Bureau and Tunisia’s Court of Auditors on Thursday signed and adopted a roadmap to activate a cooperation agreement between the two institutions.

The agreement was signed in the Jordanian capital, Amman, on the sidelines of a ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI).

According to Libya’s Audit Bureau, the roadmap sets out a phased plan for cooperation covering the exchange of expertise, capacity building, the development of digital systems and solutions, and cooperation on artificial intelligence and its governance.

It also includes developing infrastructure to support AI applications, improving audit practices and electronic models, holding technical workshops, drawing on specialised expertise, and increasing participation in international auditing seminars, conferences and events.

The bureau said the roadmap reflected a shared commitment to move the cooperation agreement beyond an institutional framework towards practical initiatives and joint projects.

It added that the plan would support the exchange of knowledge and expertise, strengthen audit tools and practices, and expand cooperation in digital transformation and innovation, helping supreme audit institutions improve their efficiency and adapt to rapid changes in the modern auditing environment.
