Libya ranks ninth in Africa for minimum wage in 2026

Libya has ranked ninth among the 10 African countries with the highest minimum wages in 2026, according to a ranking published by Nairametrics.

The report places Libya’s monthly minimum wage at 1,000 Libyan dinars (around $156.27), following an increase from 450 dinars—a 122.22% rise, the largest increase in local currency among the countries included in the ranking.

Mauritius topped the list with a monthly minimum wage of $374.21, followed by Morocco ($365.55) and South Africa ($311.23). Botswana ranked tenth with a minimum wage of $153.97 per month.
