Libya Intelligence Chief Killed in Car Bomb Amid Fresh Political Turmoil

A car bomb killed a senior Libyan National Army (LNA) intelligence chief this week, adding to turmoil in the divided country following a drone strike on its largest oil refinery and the resignation of its central bank governor.

On Tuesday, the LNA – which controls the east and parts of southern Libya – confirmed that its military intelligence chief Fawzi al-Mansouri was killed when an explosive attached to his vehicle detonated while he was exiting a mosque in the eastern city of Benghazi on Monday night.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
